Goodwick United - A team with history
Goodwick United was formed in 1932 and played in the local league until 1939 - and after the restart following the Second World War the area was represented by Pen Cw United under the guidance of Jackie Williams.
Then in the 1949/50 season they had such a good side that they won the West Wales Cup Final beating Bwlch Rangers after a 2-2 draw at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli, and then a 2-0 win in the replay with players of the calibre of Dick Delaney, Ivor and Wally Carty, John Tegan, Dai Llewellyn and Dai Lanham included.
Dick started a football dynasty because his son Mike played and managed the club, his son Nigel had a huge impact as a player and manager and his sons Scott and Matty have been respectively captain and player with Matty now starring at Carmarthen.
