Lokky's Restaurant at Woodridge Inn

Lokky's Restaurant at Woodridge Inn

Nestled away in the little village of Wooden, a stones throw away from the popular seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot is the Woodridge Inn.

The Woodridge is home to the pan-Asian restaurant Lokky's.

Myself and the family booked a table of 10 for a Tuesday evening during the Easter holidays. I have been to the Woodridge in the past but not since they have been taken over.

We arrived a little early so opted for a drink in the sun drenched beer garden. Whilst we got comfortable MaƮtre d Rollie introduced himself to us and gave us the menus. After ordering we were shown to our table in the newly furnished, gorgeously designed restaurant.

We asked for the kiddies meals the same time as the starters, this was not a problem. The starters arrived. My choice was the whole king tiger prawns in a sambal butter. The prawns were cooked perfectly and the texture was meaty. The glaze was something else, full of freshness and flavour with a sweet after taste, scrumptious!

Rachel had Lokky's honey glazed marmalade crispy chicken. The portion size was enough for 2 people I would say, well I convinced Rach it was anyway. Juicy chicken slithers so succulent. A simple silent stare of approval from Rachel was enough for me to get the gist that this dish had her blessing.

Lokky's Steak Lokky's Rice

Everyone loves steak and chips and that's what we all went for, Pinoy seasoned sirloin steak! This is a hard one to describe. Its like a normal steak and chips from a good steak house but has an Asian twist.

Homemade chips, crunchy and fluffy, juicy on the vine tomatoes and plenty of mushrooms in an Asian seasoning, which was simply superb. They don't do a peppercorn sauce, however they gave us a similar jus which was just as good for my tastes.

So to conclude, Lokky's is a pan-Asian restaurant that serves some English favourites with a twist! Not knowing the dishes and never having tried them before its been difficult to review, so I will say it in a few words: Fresh, Flavoursome, Delicious and all enjoyed in a relaxed environment. I would definitely recommend giving it a go, your first trip will not be your last.
